Synopsis: Mysterious monsters that appear and attack in present time.
The people can only be played with by them in this extreme situation.
Why do these monsters appear to attack people...?
Sousuke Banba, a scientist, searches for the truth with the keyword "Kagewani"
A new feeling of panic suspense animation begins.

Kagewani (Shadow Crocodile) is a Japanese anime (shorts) series directed by Yamishibai's Tomoya Takashima. Both of these series are similar in terms of visuals, character designs and overall mood of the story except that Kagewani deals about UMAs / unidentified mysterious animals (monsters, kaijuu etc) while Yamishibai deals with supernatural phenomenon.

The story starts with some glasses dude running through the forest and BAAM a long-neck kaijuu appears.

Sousuke Banba -sensei aka Main protagonist

A trio of friends led by glasses-dude Takeru enters a restricted area in the forest by forcefully cutting the barbed fence. We all know what happens next won't be pretty.

Why are they there, you ask?

But too bad...

They're frauds. Making bucks by uploading fake UMA videos on TomTube.

Takeru's two friends gets eaten.

Takeru falls down a cliff while evading the kaijuu.

He stumbles upon a river. Feeling happy seeing water for the 1st time, his short-lived happiness came to a close.'

Aaaaand our Main Protagonist appears at the scene.

Nothing is left except for glasses-dude's camera.

Banba tries to take it.

But his markings or scars or facial tattoos(LOL) made him cringe in pain, making him unable to retrieve the camera.

SO what does this mean? Is Banba a victim of a Kaijuu attack when he was young? Or does he have Kaijuu DNA inside him? Or is he actually a Kaijuu himself?

Overall, an interesting episode with a good story. I wonder why this anime has such low ratings. I think its because of the art style and picture bookish movement. People just can't appreciate good art these days.
